Walk Perfect

It is not an impossible task to walk perfect before the Lord
with a perfect heart.
But it does take commitment to the Lord
and work on our part. God said to Abraham,
" I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect."
David determined, “I will walk within my house
with a perfect heart.”

The Lord's command in the New Testament is
to be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect.
Paul tells us, " That we may present every man
perfect in Christ Jesus." What I truly believe
in Matthew 5:48: that we are to be perfect;
meaning to be mature in Christ Jesus. We start
our Christina walk as babes in Christ; however, we are
not to remain infants. How else can we stand complete
and perfect in the will of God otherwise?

In Colossians 4:12- Peter says to us-
“But the God of all grace, who hath called
us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus,
after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,
(complete) stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
Perfect can be so misunderstood. It's not
exactly what many think it to be. It's not meaning that
we are totally without faults.

The Lord sees not as man sees... for man looketh
on the outward while God looks on the heart.
He knows our hearts desire to be perfect or not in Him.
He knows what's deep within our hearts. Look at
David whom was said to have a perfect heart unto
the Lord, yet we see that he failed many times
concerning the Lord. But God knew his deep
desire of the heart to be perfect before a Holy God.

And we can see by Judas Iscariot, what man sees.
There was one who on the outward may have
been fighting for the "cause of the people"
But we see his hearts desire was vengeances not
to please God and walk perfect
before Him. Perfect means completeness, maturity.
To finish what you've started; a complete performance.
A perfect heart is a responsive heart. The kind
of heart that says at all times; “Speak Lord, for
your servant heareth. Show me the path that you
would have me follow.”

A perfect heart is searchable. 1 Chronicles 28:9-
David cries out: “Search me, oh God, and
know my heart; try me and know my thoughts;
and see if there be any wicked way in me.”
He wanted God to reveal the sinfulness in his
heart and to purge him. Jeremiah 17:10: I the
Lord search the heart; I try the reins, even to
give every man according to his ways, and
according to the fruit of his doings.” God penetrates
the heart and examines us deeply. We should
want God to search us and investigate the inner
most man and expose all that is not of God
and dig it out of us. Those of us who try to hide
our sin and keep it secret aren’t even trying to
walk perfect before God.

We should want God’s conviction on us for our sin.
We don’t need the smooth talking preachers who
tickle our ears with ‘easy messages, and cheap grace.”
They keep us from seeing our wrong.
We need preachers and leaders who are
going to bring forth convicting messages.
Many these days don’t want the order of things
such as, the covering, then cleansing, commitment
and lastly, communion with Christ.
Many want a quick fix to
get glory and God’s presence. They will even
go as far to say they are covered by God’s blood
without even having a crucified heart.

Spend time with Jesus, be in His word and ask
Him to reveal your inner self. Then you can ask
Him to cleanse you so that you may walk a
perfect walk before Him. He that hath clean hands,
and a pure heart…shall receive the blessings from the Lord.
