One night I woke up
in the middle of the night, know you have been there. I
was not really troubled about anything, but was
wide-awake. Then my mind begins to think on this and
that. Then all the "what ifs" came out of the
"woodwork”. Then I found myself getting restless,
fearful and worrying. Now I have been down that path
before. I know how those spirits can wrestle your spirit
down. It has been said, "physical labor is not as
tiring as mental labor”. I have found that to be so
true.
As I lay there, the Spirit of God said, "rest in
the Lord”. Now that was nothing new to me, I have
given that word to many over the years. This time I said
"Lord, would You give me more on, rest in the
Lord”? He said, "you know how a physical
body will get so tired, if it does not find a place to
rest, it will drop”. He said, "when the flesh
body finds a place to sit down, take some water and
food, it begins to get strength back. All because it
took time to rest”. Your spiritual man also gets
tired. The mind can get so overworked until you have a
"spiritual tiredness”. You must find a resting
place, drink from God's Well and eat from the Heavenly
Table. Then you will regain strength to go a little
further in this Spiritual Journey.
That means the spirit of man must find a resting place
in the Presence of the Father and the Son.
In quietness and in
confidence shall be your strength, Isaiah 30: 15.
In His Presence drink from the Heavenly Well, Romans 14:
17. Then eat the Word of God, our spiritual food. Many
times that is meditation on what the Spirit of God has
already printed on our spirit. The Spirit of God said
"when you do these things, that is resting in
God”.
I was still wide awake, but I put my head phones on and
turned on some Southern Gospel Music and the Spirit of
God begin to minister to my spirit. I fell asleep while
the Word of God was being sung. NEVER LAY AWAKE
AND THINK!!! TURN ON SOME GOSPEL MUSIC
AND LET GOD SPEAK THROUGH THE MUSIC!!! IF YOU HAVE
TO PLAY IT ALL NIGHT, THEN PLAY IT ALL NIGHT!!
THAT IS A SHIELD BETWEEN WHAT SATAN IS TRYING TO DO AND
WHAT GOD CAN DO!!!
Maybe you are wrestling with something that is taking
sleep from your eyes. Child of God find your way to the
"tree of life”, sit down and drink and eat from
the Holy Ghost. That is resting
in God!!!
