As I was writing this poem, it all went well until I got to
the last verse.
I prayed so for the Lord to give me the words;
and confessed again that we both knew that I was
writing it for the right reasons,
to hopefully touch someone's heart, for Him.
Before the Amen had been spoken---
there was my answer--- almost audible!
 "Just quote the verse"!
And that is just what I did!
So the four or more good efforts for a last verse
went into the trash. The poem that follows is the
 result of our "team work".

"You must decide"

The preacher said

Then he read aloud the verse.

I jotted it down on my bulletin

Then placed it in my purse.

I stood for the invitation,

And I sang along as well;

Not thinking about the words in the song

About choosing--- Heaven or hell.

My afternoon went by as always,

With my lunch, a nap, some TV;

But as evening came on, and night settled in,

A restlessness came over me.

I picked up my mystery novel,

After I was all tucked in my bed,

But the book could not hold my attention,

There were words floating 'round in my head.

I decided to go find that bulletin,

Then I searched for a Bible to see,

Yes, the words I had written said "Verse 16"

And the chapter I wrote was "John 3".

After reading that verse, my heart was so touched.

"Whosoever believeth" meant ME !

I read two more verses then fell to my knees

For the truth of the words I could see!

John 3:18b ...

"he that believeth not is condemned already."

Praise God, my decision is now made, and

I can look forward to eternal life with God.

Even now I can enjoy a close relationship

with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
