At The Crossroads
She
stands all alone on a bridge at
midnight
Tears
streaming as she looks out into the
river
How on
earth did she get to this stage in her
life
When all
she ever wanted was to be a mother and
a wife

Where had
she gone wrong when did it start
The young
girl had developed a stone cold heart
Too much
freedom, too little love at home
So now
she stands here heart broken and alone

She looks
at the water flowing swift and deep
Should
she walk on across or into the water
leap
A gentle
hand touched her shoulder and turned
her around
She
looked in all directions not a soul to
be found

Her
suicide thoughts now broken but a
strange comfort encamped
As she
slowly turned and walked down off the
ramp
A sweet
peaceful feeling like she had never
known
Like the
touch of love the stranger had shown

Many
years have passed since the peace she
did find
But the
night on the bridge has never left her
mind
The
gentle touch she felt she has never
found out
But in
her heart she knows it was an angel no
doubt
